Peter has been at the Bar since 1994 and Senior Counsel since 2009. He is the current Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association, and has served on the Ethics Committee. He has taught public law and criminal law subjects at the Law School of the University of Melbourne since 1993.

Professional Background
Since 1994 Peter has been appearing in major criminal trial and appeals of all sorts, including homicides, large-scale frauds, importations and major contempts. He appears frequently in the higher courts, chiefly in Victoria but also in The Hague (at the ICTY), Nauru and in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. He has extensive involvement with Australian defendants facing proceedings in foreign courts. As CBA Chairman he belongs to several advisory committees within the justice system.
