Jennifer McGarvie

Professional Background

Jennifer accepts briefs to appear and advise in all criminal matters. She regularly appears in the summary and indictable jurisdictions in pleas, committals, appeals, contested hearings, bail applications, contraventions and supervision order proceedings.

Jennifer also accepts briefs in quasi-criminal matters including coronial inquests, disciplinary tribunals and royal commissions.  

Prior to coming to the Bar, Jennifer was an Associate to Her Honour Judge Davis at the County Court. In this role she gained experience working in the criminal division of the County Court, including supporting Her Honour in the conduct of numerous criminal trials.

Jennifer commenced her legal career as a solicitor at Piper Alderman. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University.
